Membership

How to become a member

Membership is open to women who support YAEL's purposes. To become a full member, you'll:

What membership gives you:
one vote at a general meeting; the ability to nominate for the board; the periodic newsletter; the ability to volunteer for roles and committees; and all privileges under the YAEL constitution.
Volunteer roles

Lend your skills

Members can take on a role that suits them. All roles are voluntary and unpaid, and most can be done remotely and around your own schedule.

Legal research & writing

Help research matters and prepare clear information. Suited to law students, paralegals and lawyers.

Events & fundraising

Help plan and run events and fundraising activities that build awareness and grow the fund.

Communications & social media

Help share YAEL’s work across X and Facebook, and tell our story.

Type: Non-legal · Commitment: A few hours a month · Location: Remote · Unpaid volunteer

Help write and produce our quarterly newsletter for members and supporters.

Administration & support

Help with the day-to-day that keeps a volunteer-led charity running.
